My journey in Australia continues this week with travels in Queensland. We saw dozens of kangaroos and a few koalas. Soooo sweet!

Koalas and kangaroos and bats, oh my!

We’ve been around Queensland quite a bit this week, from Mary Caincross Scenic Reserve to Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area to Tallebudgera Creek.  We’ve seen so many critters, including fruit bats and cane toads.  I was supposed to dive one day but we got rained out.  Not to worry — I have a couple of dive days planned for the coming week.

I took a walk with some new friends along Tallebudgera Creek. We had planned to scuba dive that day but were rained out. We braved the drizzle to walk along the river, though, then we went back to the house and played ukulele for a couple of hours 😀

We saw three koalas in the Coombabah Lake Conservation Park, a sweet area with open fields for kangaroos and forested areas for koalas. A truly Australian afternoon.

We saw dozens and dozens of kangaroos in Coombabah Lake Conservation Park, including mamas with joeys.  They weren’t the least bit afraid of us (well, maybe a little cautious), and several of them hopped past us just yards away.

And what’s a B&B without a little silliness…
